What are the chances of play basketball at Duke? I am 15 years old and im the best player on my team...im going to be moving up to the varsity level before most ppl end up playing for varsity. Im about 5'8 and thats prob as tall as im going to get but I get about 5 blocks per game and around 10 points. My all time dream is to play for Duke but I live in a really small town and basketball or any sport really at my school is not noticed. What r the chances ill get noticed and have the chance to play college ball at Duke and what can I do to improve these chances?

Why is it that Duke Basketball players do so poorly in the nba? J.J. redick is just another in a long line of Duke players that were stars but don't make a impact in the nba. Did the refs screw the Marquette-Duke basketball game? Marquette got called for so many fouls against Duke. Duke were committing those same fouls on defense except the refs wouldn't call it. Also, Singler was pushing Hayward like crazy only to get separation.

why do people hate duke basketball? besides fans of UNC. they're a great organization, have a great coach, rely on teamwork and chemistry rather than star power and selfishness, don't break recruiting rules, players don't get into trouble, etc. all of these things are what ideal basketball programs should be like, so why does everyone hate duke? is it just because they've been so good for so long? I can understand that people hate the yankees b/c they outspend everyone, but ncaa rules prevent that and duke follows them. criticisms about style of play (flopping, whining about calls) hold true for EVERY basketball team. is it because of the cameron crazies? they're what fans should be like...die hard, supportive, etc. is it because duke is a rich school? well so is stanford, but that's still a stupid reason to hate them, given all the progress made in college financial aid in recent years i just don't get it

Has Duke basketball lost its power? I am watching them play Va Tech and they look awful. The players on Duke are not even goood and they all play hesitant, mainly Paulus. Teams have been working Duke this year like it is no big deal. Has anyone else noticed almost all Duke basketball players are white? I was watching Duke/Maryland the other night, and this kind of hit me. It seems like Duke teams are almost all predominantly white. This struck me as really odd. I don't think coach K is a racist or anything, that's not what this question is about. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Also, It seems like a lot (not all) of Duke's players aren't really all-star NBA material, at least, not as many as you'd think coming from such a talented program. I know Grant Hill and others are out there, but really in comparison to other schools, it seems there are a lot less. It also seems coach K gets a lot more 4-year kids, and not as many of these one year, "can't wait to get in the NBA," kids to play for him. I could be crazy, but I really think there's something to all of this (except maybe the white thing, lol). I just wanted to see if I was the only one who saw this or not. Feel free to tell me I'm crazy if I am... lol 8*) To clarify, there is no real point to this question (I'm just a bored insomniac). And there is another side to it, but they only give me a thousand letters. 8*)

Do you have to be an amazing player to play basketball for Duke or Clemson? I'm 13 years old and I love basketball. I am center on my church team. I'm 6'2" and roughly 170 pounds. I train a lot but I only make 4-8 points a game. I get a lot of rebounds and steals. I didn't make my middle school team but I have improved a lot. I am a natural Clemson fan but I really would like to play basketball for Duke. Aren't duke basketball fans rude? They are the rudest people I've ever met in life. They insult players and teams and even Coach K has complained about them. hey powderlovinbluedevil, i went to a duke basketball game and the fans were insulting Wake Forest. The fans called him sumo, fatty, and ugly. Also, 3 years ago cameron crazies chanted NIT, NIT, to Wake Forest. Then after the game Coach K said that the fans were being extremely rude and they showed no respect.
