Will Duke Devils (NCAA Men Basketball) Continue to be a good team after their head coach leaves?

Nothing against any Duke Devils Fans out there, but I know he is not going to leave his team. And some day he is going to have to retire from his job. Do u believe or think Duke will continue to stay in the top 25 after their head coach retires?

  1. It depends. Coach K is one of the best coaches in history. When he leaves, Duke could still be one of the top basketball colleges if the university hires one of the top coaches. As long as the next coach is one of the best college basketball coaches around, Duke can still do well. I'm sure plenty of people will want the job.
  2. well dont think they be too bad, when Coach K retires he will probably appoint one of his assistants as coach, who would probably use what they learned from him to continue the duke basketball tradition.
  3. Yes--the Duke job will continue to be one of the best jobs in sports. Coach K has really built up the facilities and is now endowing basketball scholarships, so that the program as a whole can eventually sustain itself. It looks like Dawkins will probably take over after Coach K leaves, and he is a fine ambassador of the Duke tradition. Duke is one of the Top 5 winningest programs in college hoops, and while Coach K is sort of the modern day John Wooden, the program was strong before he arrived. Duke is like Kansas, Kentucky, and UNC--they have a long standing tradition of playing college hoops at a high level and will always have alumni that demand basketball excellence. The program is a big money maker and the athletics department is not going to suddenly succumb to mediocrity when Coach K leaves.
