- you just dribble back duh
- well you are like me i used to be really bad at basketball but now i am good. you should be really good. i know that you can not take a step with the ball that is called traveling. and if you take it past halfcourt that is over and back. a score is worth 2 points. hope i helped
- You have a lot still to learn!!! a rebound is when someone tries to score and you grab the ball from under the basket you shoot a free throw when some one fouls you. a post player is the one that runs around the box (there should always be 2 post player on a team playing! a wing player is the one that stays on the side ( also to on the team playing) a point guard is the one that stays on the top of the court and call out the plays for the other player to run a layup is worth 2 points a 3 pointer is worth 3 points defence is when the others are have the ball and offence is when your team has the ball if you get the ball dribble hold it and dribble again that is called travelling so you have to give the ball to the other team! that is all that i can remember now!!! I hope that helps!
- ok i have some tips for you.Dribble the ball to the 3-point line and then juke the person by go underneath legs but first practice go under your legs then when you juke her go in to your sweet spot and swoosh
- depend on what you play PG or 1: the floor leader and the ball handler. MUST be a good ball handler (be abe to cross over) and should be able to shoot exceptionally well. a trus pg will pass first and not just take every shot possible. true pgs will be able to involve everyone around them to make everyone better. (for 8th girls 5'3 or shorter) SG or 2: usually has less ballhandling skills than the pg but the best shooter on the floor. Usually, they are known for making 3s and being a perimeter threat(just being able to make 3 pointers). a bit taller the the pg too (5'5-5'3) SF or 3: taller than the sg and rebounds better, but doesnt handle the ball as well. shooting is a plus for sf but must be able to make at least 14 foot shots. (5'7-5'5) PF or 4: the second tallest person on the team. rebounds well but should be able to shoot well too. they are essentially a smaller center, but not as physical. (5'9-5'7) C or 5: the most physical player on the court. must be able to post up (basically play with your back to the basket at all times) and MUST rebound well. should be able to shoot and range is a plus. so is shot blocking (since it cant be taught only perfected). (5'10 or taller) when to take the ball back: when the other team scores, everyone hustles back to the other side. (if team 1 was just on offense and scored they will run back on defense while team 2, who was just on defense will run back to play offense) the pg and c of team 2 will stay back so that the center will pass it into the pg (or anyone with good ball handling). the pg then dribbles it the length of the court and sets up the play. this is why they are called the floor leader. ALSO, if you have just collected a rebound while on defense, pass it to the pg so they can set up a play on offense or, if you think you can run it back without any trouble, go for a fastbreak and get 2 quick points. steals are the same ways to score: theres a 3 point line (19 ft, 9 inches from the front of the backboard), a pull up shot (dribbling and shooting almost in a fluid motion) a set shot (shooting while standing) , layups (going to the basket and barley shooting it in) and of course free throws (15 feet from the backboard). free throws are attempted when a player commits a foul while their team is over the foul limit, or a technical is given to an opposing team. if a shotter was shooting a 3, and is fouled, they get to shoot 3 foul shots (unless it goes in, then they shoot 1 for a potential 4 point play). if it was a regular shot or a layup then they get 2 shots (unless it goes in then the get 1 for a potential 3 point play). technical fouls grant one shot. how to score: it really depend on what your good at. if your good at shooting, shot around 10-12 foot shots, but if your confident about your shot, shoot a 3. layups are essentially the easiest shot BUT keep in mind that a tall player will be trying to swat your shot away. i hope that helps. basketball is all about simplicity, theres not as many fouls or technicallities as football or baseball which makes it a more free flowing sport. basically, the point is to have fun and not to think to hard on 'oo what am i going to do next'. just do whats comfortable and i also forgot. if you start dribbling and stop, you cannot start dribbling it again or else youll turn it ove rto the other team. you must pass or shoot it.
