Do you have to be an amazing player to play basketball for Duke or Clemson?

I'm 13 years old and I love basketball. I am center on my church team. I'm 6'2" and roughly 170 pounds. I train a lot but I only make 4-8 points a game. I get a lot of rebounds and steals. I didn't make my middle school team but I have improved a lot. I am a natural Clemson fan but I really would like to play basketball for Duke. I was looking on the website and all the players were like super good in high school.So I was wondering will I have to improve greatly to play for Clemson or Duke? master- i'm very intelligent thank you!!

heheheh. Intramurals are open to everyone. You might have to get smarter to get into those schools though...
There is more to the game than scoring. Heart, hustle, and determination are characteristics coaches love to surround themselves with. It is tougher to get noticed, but sometimes role players make a team.
you would think so with the way ESPN shows nothing but ACC/Big East/Big XII/Big 10/SEC/PAC 10 matchups... but truth be told you have to improve greatly to make ANY college basketball team and be successful, even Division III.
