basketball....???!!!!?
ok so today we had a basketball game. i was very nervous do to the fact that we were versing tall players. i couldnt get a single rebound. during a time out the coach told me "the reason im not playing you as starting 5 anymore is because your playing to soft and if u keep this up your not going to play." he told me that as a power forward i should get more rebounds. what should i do i dont wanna play as bench i worked so hard to get in the starting 5. what can i do to help my rebounding skills and what can i do to play more aggressive???

- there's not much to tell you about being aggressive except... BE AGGRESSIVE! play angry. when you box out, HIT the opponent with your forearm hard in the chest and turn and box. INITIATE as much CONTACT as you could. also, NEVER be afraid. have the attitude that you are the best and you are going to dominate, even if it's not true, having that attitude will help you and make you sooooooo much better.
- just don't be afraid of your opponent i don't really have that problem cause i'm 6'2" in 13 and under. Just go out there and be confident. Good luck
- Whenever you try to grab rebounds, try to give just a little push to make them fall just far enough so you can easily grab the rebound.
- dude, im a varsity player as a freshman an di avereage 24 poitns a game and 12 rebounds. im only 6'2. what i do is just block out man. get agressive down low by the block. Make sure u front the guy that is posting u up. just go after the ball. SHow ur coach that u desreve that starting spot
- think about someone or something that makes you like SUPER mad or angry. and when you play then let it all out!!! i love basketball. another thing you can try is if your dad or someone in your family plays basketball, then practice with them. i play with my dad and i'm also on my schools team GO DIABLOS WOOO!!!
- Well first thing first, don't listen to a one of the other guys answers!! Don't push, at least not with your hands!! Be physical, be aggressive!! Always stay in-between your opponet and the rim, when going for the rebound. Use your backside when boxin out, and keep the player behind you. Timing is key, don't jump until the ball has came off the rim or the glass. And remember when your playing down on the block and the balls up, always maintain contact with your defender/opponet!!
- I know how you feel... except in reverse order. I am a power forward and i didnt get to even touch the floor on game day. I am a pretty skinny guy and i would also get nervous whenever i DID get on the court because i wanted to play more and i only goy a few chances to show that i could play better.. There are two things that i changed but one stands out more, i got aggresive. You need to find something that makes you angry on the court, but still lets you focus on basketball. For me, it was the fact that i never got to play! For rebounding you need to use this to give you that shot of adrenaline right befor you box the guy out. They best thing to do is set up something soft to run into, and practice turning a sprinting momentum to a turn and hitting that guy EXTREMELY HARD with your rear. You can send guys into the bleachers or flying out the baseline and keep it completely legal if you master the high speed box out. If the guy isnt on the court, he isnt going to get the ball. The lower you get, the harder you hit, and the taller THEY are all help you get the ball. Once you get that killer's mentality, work on your uper-body strength so that you can back that up, but getting the mentality down can make you a better player by 500%. I am now a starter and leading scorer, most of my points come off of rebounds and fastbreak steals, i am not really a shooter or physically intmidating... go get em!!!
