Why do DUKE basketball players do horrible in the NBA?

They do great in college but when they get to the pros they are not that great. ex. JJ Reddick, Bob Hurley, Danny Ferry, Jay Williams, Trajan Langdon, Christian Laettner. Are they just used to a systematic way of playing? Can't forget Cherokee Parks LOL

2. they just fit into a system. they look great cause they buy into the system that Coach K preaches. do you think these guys are really All-Americans or are they All-Americans because Duke recruits them
3. they aren't coached to be team players. They are individual players who just happen to be on a team. It's all about "I" and "me". (If you notice when they lose.....it's the TEAM that lost, not them) Most develop an attitude of "I'm great" before leaving school. Grant Hill seems to be the exception which I credit his father for. Duke players are just not good team players.
4. Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Elton Brand? Tell the whole story. There are plenty of good players. And you make it sound like Laettner was terrible. The first part of his career was decent. He wasn't awful.
5. Yeah...the new coach K way is not OK in the NBA....haha Notable Duke players that thrived in the NBA and has studyed under coach K..... Shane Battier Carlos Boozer Mike Dunleavy Elton Brand and Luol Deng These players studied under coach K and have done well in the NBA because they have NBA ready bodies or in Mike Dunleavy's case....a realtive in the NBA that helped them out....
6. Its just the system......they are all 6 foot 3 point shooters and when they get to the nba there are 6-8 guards that slam their 3 point shot back in their face
7. I'm sure it has a lot to do with Coach K and the way he creates chemistry.
8. Coach K doesn't instill playing like a team as other college coaches do. Players are supposed to become a team. Coach K makes the team out of his players. He creates a whole picture out of the puzzle pieces he has. Those puzzle pieces (players) don't know how to fit in other pictures (teams).
9. um, your forgetting some...Grant hill, elton brand, carlos boozer, and luol deng...and jay williams fucked his knee up so yeah...GO DUKE!!
10. Undersized, too reliant on 3-point shooting.
