can anybody tell me whats the difference between the USA/ESPN poll and the AP poll for NCAA basketball?
Im having problems knowing whats the difference between the USA TODAY/ESPN poll,AP poll,and RPI poll for NCAA mens basketball

- I don't know the difference but the common element of both is that they are both pointless.

- different voters in the usa/espn and ap polls. rpi is the ratings percentage index and it takes in numerous polls and figures.
- USA Today poll is voted on by the coaches. AP Poll is voted on by members of the press. RPI - The Rating Percentage Index is a mathematical measurement of a team's strength. The formula consists of a team's winning percentage against Division I opponents (25 percent), the opponents' average winning percentage (50 percent) and the opponents' opponents' average winning percentage (25 percent). It gets a little more detailed, but those are the main points.
- Not much. Just a bunch of old men who feel the need to be the source, to be controlling. We all have our own polls...
