NCAA Seeds?
In the NCAA tournament their are "seeds" or rankings every team gets based on their regular season. I play and watch basketball a lot but one thing i have never gotten is why the better teams, teams with rankings like 1, 2, 3... etc. are called high seeds and the teams with rankings like 14, 15, 16 are called lower seeds. Please help.

- well, seeds from about 13-16 almost always come from a mid-major conference winner, while 1-12 usually include the best teams that did or did not win their conference
- The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee decides on who gets what seed, & where they will play. You can count on seeds 1-4 going to major conference teams(ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-10, SEC, Big East, & maybe an A-10 and/or C-USA team), & seeds 13-16 going to lower rated conference champions(SWAC, America East, Ohio Valley, MEAC, etc.) How a club does in its last 10-12 games, its' RPI ranking, how they performed against the Top 50, 51-100, 100+, strength of non-conference schedule, & injuries to key personel factors in where a team will be seeded.
