What are the NCAA basketball rules on playing a player not in the official book?

It was only discovered after the game. A team who won played a player who wasn't A: On the team sheet. B: In either book. Any clues?

2. forfieting all of the games which they used the player not on the official roster.
3. NCAA team will be fined and punished harshly and strict like decreasing scholarships offer or put the school on a harsh probation.
