What kind of weights should I lift if i'm planning to play for a division 1 NCAA basketball team?
I'm wondering if NBA players or basketball players in general lift small ammounts of weights but do alot of sets or do they lift big ammounts of weights and do like, 2 sets. I weigh 160. I'm 6'0. I'm trying to get fast and a bit stronger.

- well i play for the colorado state pueblo team which is a 2-A but are coach makes us work more leggs we work around 35 pounds on the legs and go to around pretty smal weights and a ton of sets for your upper body hope this works
- you dont have a chance to play d-1 \\\.///...
- It is a good time of year for you to build strength by using heavier weights for arms, chest, shoulders and legs. Go as heavy as you are able for doing 2 sets of 12 reps each.
- Lift light weights with more reps. This builds strength with out adding alot of bulk. Keeps you stronger but more agile. Basketball, Tennis, Track (runners), etc... want to be strong and lean. Heavy weights with fewer reps build up more bulk, better for football, wrestling, etc.... Get a good well rounded workout for both lower and upper body. Maybe work out Upper body two days a week and lower body two days a week, allowing you body to rest every other day. Stretch good before and after working out. Nor Cal
- real weights?
