ESPN Title Town Contest?

This is why Boston Is title town. Championships: NBA-17 MLB-7 NFL-3 NHL-5 NCAA HOCKEY-7 (B.C. and B.U.) NCAA FOOTBALL -1 (B.C.) TOTAL-40 CHAMPIONSHIPS (this is not including college baseball or basketball or womens college sports) Any arguments? yes N.Y. has 51 but they also have 2football,2 baseball,and 2 hockey teams(3 if you count BUF) and if you count championships from teams that arn't there anymore like the dodgers and Giants. I didn't include former Boston teams like the Braves I think the only people that call Green Bay title town are people that live in Green Bay, You have to have more than 7 titles to even be concidered this isn't going to be an official title anyways so don't worry if a town already has a nickname like bean town or the big apple. It's only a survey that espn is doing Well Jessie, from what I found on the net green bay has 6 titles not 12 Well Jessie, from what I found on the net green bay Packers has 6 titles not 12, As I said in the question I'm not including teams that don't exsist in the city anymore. Green Bay should be embarrased to call themselves title town seeing as they have so few titles. That's like a midget calling himself the tallest man in the world.

  3. Isn't the true Titeltown Green Bay, WI??? I alwasy thought that was Green Bay's nickname. If that's the case, then Boston isn't Titletown at all. Sorry!!

  7. How long did they go WITHOUT a title? Also since Belichick was taping signals during all three of those Superbowl years(which was illegal) means they are questionable. Then you get into NCAA Championships. Anyway I argue that Green Bay took the nickname Title Town YEARS ago so it is theirs. Pittsburgh is the City of Champions. ESPN and Boston need to come up with their own name.
  8. This is the gayest contest ever. ESPN is retarded for doing this. You can't take away a town's nickname. Green Bay is Title Town. That's like having a "Who is The Windy City?" or "Who is The Big Apple?" contest. It's just stupid. I'm sure ESPN can find something else to do instead of this.

  10. In my opinion Titletown should be the city with the best overall teams in a sport and i think that should be the city of Chicago. 1. The Bears- Arguably they have had the best football team ever in NFL history (85' Bears).Also they have won 9 championships 2.The Bulls-6 NBA championships in a decade (2 Three-peats) They have had the best Franchise in sports overall with Michael Jordan 3. The Chicago Crosstown teams(Cubs and White Sox)- Have combined for 5 MLB championships and the White Sox did have the best postseason record in MLB history. 4.The Blackhawks- They havent been so good for a few years but they were amazing in the 30's and were part of the Original Six and have won 3 Stanley cups.Also you could say they have had the best Hockey team in NHL history, The 61' Blackhawks with Bobby Hull,Stan Mikita, Pierre Pilote, and Glenn Hall (all in the hockey Hall of fame) 5.The other Sports teams- Other chicago sport teams include the Fire, Rush, Wolves, which have a combined 10 Championships in their sports So before saying that titletown is all about championships think of the best teams of all sports and add it up Though Boston is "Titletown" because of their major sucess of obtaining titles so boston is the Titletown....But in my opinion Chicago is Sportstown

  12. i'm not from Green Bay and i know Green Bay is Titletown. 1 team, 12 titles. nuff said. smallest market, amazing how that works out. besides, it is a nickname. you can't change nicknames.
  13. is this a joke boston is defintly title town lol , its a joke that people think New York is because it has same number of titles but lol they have two baseball teams in the city and so does chicago , the bears fucking suck now , so do the bulls. B-town has it all
