  1. you should first stretch your arms and legs. Then when you are shooting try to concentrate on the back board.
  2. just go ask the coach for practices, and be there early and leave late. Coaches like players who love the game and work hard. Just make sure the coach knows you are a hard worker and will try and practice to get better.
  3. Sounds like you should work on shooting... Form Shooting- stand at either side of hoop, a few feet away, bank the shot, focus on target which should be upper corner of square on backboard. use only one hand, concentrate on squaring up, bending knees, elbow in, extend and hold the follow thru for 2 seconds. Do this 5 times then go to other side, repeat. Go in front of hoop, 4 or 5 feet , same thing, one hand, take your time, this time swish, no bank. Now repeat above but step back a few feet, bring in your guide hand, keep everything in line, hold your follow thru. After 5 shots from all 3 areas move back again ONLY if you are making most of these shots. Continue moving out as you build confidence and are making the shot. As you go further out you'll need more power from legs and a nice arc on ball. Look for backspin when you shoot, this is what you want. Now you start shooting while adding motion.... Pass to yourself- hold ball in both hands on side of ball out in front of you below your waist. Underhand flip the ball out about 6 to 8 feet utilizing a backspin. Run to ball, backspin will slow ball down when it hits the ground and should come back toward you a little, you should catch ball at your waist like it's a pass. Catch, turn, square, align, focus, shoot, follow thru. Run in get your rebound, put back in if you missed and repeat from different areas around court. Good Luck Coach A
