Fantasy basketball?
I have never had a fantasy league before, but I want to have one this year for basketball. Can someone tell me what is a good FREE site where I can start my league? And can you tell me how it all works, like how do I win or lose?

- Not to be a homer, but Yahoo has the best fantasy sports site period. They pretty much explain everything to you. You can play commissioner and set your own scoring and rules. Now there are plenty of sites to choose from,ESPN,Sporting News, CBS, but for the money(FREE) Yahoo is the way to go.
- Yahoo is great. There are a few kinds of leagues, but the most common is roto or head to head. They are each a bit different. What they have in common, though, is by default the categories you keep track of. The categories are: Field Goal %, Free Throw %, Points, Rebounds, Assists, 3 pointers made, Steals, Blocks, and turnovers. Turnovers are not good and you want less of those, but for all the others you want the most you can get. In a roto game, you play against everyone in your league for the whole season. Roto is a marathon. Head to head is a series of sprints. With roto, say there are 12 people in your league. Whoever is winning each category would then get 12 points. So...the best rebounding team gets 12 points, second best gets 11...worst rebounding team gets 1 point. Obviously, these change throughout the season. In roto, you want to be as solid as possible in all stat categories. Head to head is a bit different. In head to head, you go against another team in your league each week. In head to head, each stat category is worth one point. If you get more rebounds than the guy you play that week, you get one point for that. Whoever has the most blocks gets a point for that, and so on for each of the 9 categories. Then, one team wins the week by winning, say, 7-2 or 6-3 or 5-4 or something like that. Make sense? Usually the following positions are used: point guard, shooting guard, guard (can be any pg or sg), small forward, power forward, forward (any pf or sf), 2 center spots and 2 utility spots (any player can play in the util spot) and 3 bench spots. In head to head, you move your players around each night to try to get the most and best players playing on that night. In roto, you have a 'max games limit'. Each spot (pg, sg, g, etc) can only play 82 games. Not each player, but each spot on your roster, so you tend, in roto, to keep guys on your bench and keep your roster more set. Anway...read through the rules. There are lots of nuances, but it is super super fun. I'm in the middle of a slow draft right now!
