what do u think of Philippine basketball?

i heard of Philippines as very good in basketball, the PBA or Phil Basketball Association, what do you think? and its superstars? can they compete internationally

1. In asia,philippine basketball is very good,but not in world basketball now.The RP NT beat qatar NT and lebanon NT(twice in a row),who runs 3rd and 2nd in the last ABC respectively.The RP NT was not able to join FIBA sanctioned tournaments because of problems in its basketball politics.About some of the basketball superstars,i can say they could be consider as one of top level in asia,if they would be expose internationally more times and show asia what the NT and the players got.I post these because i want to recognized by the other nation that RP NT is a basketball power(which is true).
2. the last time the Philippines was a competitive international team was in the 50's when they placed third in the world basketball championships....ever since then they have gone downhill and are not even very competitive in Asia where China and Korea are now most dominant...the basketball hierarchy is such a mess that fiba has even suspended the local association and the outlook of being competitive in the Asian games in Doha this December is so bleak that the PBA is unwilling to interrupt its season to put together a team to compete there....although many of the local superstars are decent players it will take a long time before they can be competitive internationally....the problem really lies with the fact that the Filipinos are not really people of height and the talent pool for really good players is very limited
