If a few black men from the Duke basketball team had been accused of rape by a white woman?

Would things have been different? Would there be an equal amount of outrage by the public? Plenty of people want to talk about how being PC in this country is wrong. Why can't we drop the PC in this case and call it what it really is?

Public Comments

  1. Yes. No one cares about a white woman being raped by a bunch of blacks.
  2. If that was the case a few black men would be sitting in jail and there would be one more rich white woman with a book/movie deal.
  3. I am not sure that it would be different.....However, if the DA had done the same things....all black leaders (Jackson, Sharpton, etc) would be raising holy hell about it, it would be in every headline.
  4. you would not here from Jesse Jackson or Sharpton .They would keep quite but since its the other way you can't shut them up
  5. you bet ye, we'd lunch them
  6. You would not have seen Shaprton until after the players had been cleared of all charges. And Nifong would have been called a racist and fired the day after the charges were dropped...not months later. The word "racist" is the most powerful weapon for Sharpton and keeps the $$$ coming into his pocket.
  7. Al Sharpton would have been crying out that the boys were innocent if a white business woman was raped by a bunch of crips or bloods. In this case it was a Corrupt D.A. taking the word of a stripper and withholding DNA evidence to try to frame these boys in an attempt to gain the African-American vote.Oh yeah, and the media would been 100% behind these boys if they were black and the woman was white.I imagine that people are going to report me for this answere I gave but the truth is that people like Al Sharpton are no better than David Duke.
  8. I don't care about either the real case of the hypothetical. Should I start to breed the self-guilt to make myself feel better? Really, justice is a matter of local issues and the media's agenda are entirely their own. I don't know why people get so caught up in cases like this e.g OJ, Michael Jackson, Blake....blah blah blah. There's a reason we have a federalism, and there's a reason why local people are suppose to pay attention. But frankly I don't care about these cases. Death and corruption are far wider a concept than a few cases, and it's better to target the root causes than to put my scope on what ever the media wants me to pay attention to. Plus this hypothetical is so contrived. So I guess I'm the rare public individual whom doesn't care either way,... and actually wants to review principle concepts rather than racial divisions. Bah...bah....bah.
