  1. You get recruited from High School, offered a scholarship to play for a particular college. Tuition is paid. Or you can walk on and try out for the team as long as you are attending the University as a full time student. Hope that helps. Go Duke
  2. If you play in high school there may be scouts at some of the games that are searching for players. This is one way to get recognized and offered a scholarship at some university or college. And yes, they have try-outs for the team during a certain time of the year and you're able to go show them your skills and possibly get a position on the team. If you get a position that way you're called a "walk on". It's just like any other sport in college really...you hear all the time about walk-on place kickers in football.
  3. Well you can get recrurited and offered a scholarship. Scouts will come and watch your high school games and if you are good enough will offer you a scholarship. If you are not offered a scholarship you can choose a university to go as a student then try out for a walk on spot. Just remember, Student-Athlete, student comes first.
