- You get recruited from High School, offered a scholarship to play for a particular college. Tuition is paid. Or you can walk on and try out for the team as long as you are attending the University as a full time student. Hope that helps. Go Duke
- If you play in high school there may be scouts at some of the games that are searching for players. This is one way to get recognized and offered a scholarship at some university or college. And yes, they have try-outs for the team during a certain time of the year and you're able to go show them your skills and possibly get a position on the team. If you get a position that way you're called a "walk on". It's just like any other sport in college really...you hear all the time about walk-on place kickers in football.
- Well you can get recrurited and offered a scholarship. Scouts will come and watch your high school games and if you are good enough will offer you a scholarship. If you are not offered a scholarship you can choose a university to go as a student then try out for a walk on spot. Just remember, Student-Athlete, student comes first.
