How many total points were scored in the 2006 NCAA basketball tournament?

The tie-breaker for my pool is the total points scored throughout the tournament by all teams in all games and I can't find any idea of a good ballpark figure!

1. well lets say 60 points per team per game on average so 120 points a game multiplied by 63 total games = 7560 so i would guess about 7500 and you would be well off/'/
